How to Keep Up with News

By: Finn Summar

The school year can be very hectic for students, and it can be hard to keep up to date with what is happening here at West. From sports and clubs to testing dates, there is a lot of important information that students need in order to be successful during the school year.

One great way to stay aware of what is going on is the variety of social media accounts (Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, etc) that clubs, sports, and other activities run. This is a great way for club and sports members and advisors/coaches to communicate with students about their activities. Students can see a glimpse into what the activity is like, when meetings and practices are, etc.

Another way to stay up to date is to watch the weekly announcements during Advisory. West Happenings is a great way to get information on upcoming events here at our school. They cover a variety of topics to make sure students stay informed about different activities, bell schedules, and more.

A third way to keep up with our busy school is to check your student email for the Titan Community Newsletter. The newsletter includes information about bell schedules, athletic calendars, upcoming events, Senior information, and more.

One way to keep up with news that not many people know about is a free subscription to The New York Times offered by our school library. This resource is a great one to use to learn about world news, politics, and more.

Finally, of course, keeping up with us here at the Titan Spectator on our website and Instagram account is a great way to stay up to date. We cover a variety of topics including school news, community news, and spotlights on our school’s clubs and sports.

The school year here at West can be stressful for students, but making sure that you know what is going on doesn’t have to be.
